Trump Calls Off an Air Strike to Spare Iranian Lives!


The tension between the U.S. and Iran has been rising after the retaliation of the two countries. Latest on Thursday, June 20, 2019, an Irania shot down a U.S. military surveillance drone in the in international airspace over the Strait of Hormuz due to this situation Irania claimed that the U.S drone is a “Spy Drone” it crossed into Iran’s red line, so they have to shoot it down.  

On the same day, after the U.S. drone was shot down, the U.S. president Donald Trump tweeted “Iran made a very big mistake!” and approved the military to attack Iran but suddenly, he called back the command of attacking with no reason.

In this case, The New York Times gave assumptions on Trump abruptly pulled back the attack that Trump might change his mind, or the administration switched course due to logistics and strategic considerations. However, the Times said It also wasn’t clear if the attacks would still go ahead.

As a result, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced an emergency announcement in order to prohibiting U.S. operators from flying in an overwater area of Iran-controlled airspace over the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman due to heightened tensions.
FAA stated that “Although Iran likely has no intention to target civil aircraft, the presence of multiple long-range, advanced anti-aircraft capable weapons in a tense environment poses a possible risk of miscalculation or misidentification, especially during periods of heightened political tension and rhetoric,”

Later on Friday, Trump explain the reason of the change of his mind, saying he aborted a military strike to retaliate for Iran’s downing of an unmanned U.S. drone as it could have killed 150 people. Meanwhile, he signaled Tehran that a talk was open.
