3 PTT’s Stocks Plunge after Global Oil Price Faces a Huge Loss Overnight.


Three stocks under PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) fell sharply on August 2, 2019, after Brent and WTI plunged 7% and 8%, respectively.

SET Index also traded 23 points lower at the opening bell due to the worry from the escalation of trade war after the new trade tension between the U.S. and China had abruptly sparked over the night on the announcement of another $300 billion dollar worth of Chinese goods to be imposed with 10% import tariffs. Moreover, there are currently several reported explosions by planted bombs in the capital city of Thailand. The police still has no clue of the bomber’s identity and motive.

 

PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) fell 2.1%, more than any full-day loss since March 6, as Thailand’s benchmark index declined. PTT declined to ฿46.25/share, lower than any close since May 24, from THB47.25. Stock declined 10% in the past 52 weeks.

Trading volume was 35.9 million shares, more than quadruple the 20-day average of 8.42 million shares for this time of day. PTT were down 3.1% in the past 5 days and fell 4.6% in the past 30 days.

PTT’s dividend yield is 4.3% on a trailing 12-month basis and 5.2% based on dividend forecasts for the next 12 months.

 

PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC) fell 2.9%, more than any full-day loss since May 23. The shares declined to ฿58.50/share, lower than any close since Nov. 14, 2016, from ฿60.25/share. PTTGC declined 29% in the past 52 weeks. The shares were down 4.5% in the past 5 days and fell 8.6% in the past 30 days.

PTTGC’s dividend yield is 7.2% on a trailing 12-month basis and 7.6% based on dividend forecasts for the next 12 months.

 

PTT Exploration & Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) fell 3%, more than any full-day loss since May 24. The shares declined to ฿131.0/share, lower than any close since June 18, from THB135.

Trading volume was 2.83 million shares, more than seven times the 20-day average of 396,507 shares for this time of day. PTTEP declined 5.3% in the past 52 weeks. The shares were down 2.6% in the past 5 days and fell 2.6% in the past 30 days.

PTTEP’s dividend yield is 3.8% on a trailing 12-month basis and 4.8% based on dividend forecasts for the next 12 months.
