Carrie Lam has officially announced the withdrawal of the extradition bill to stop the prolonged political protest of Hong Kongers.


On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has officially announced the withdrawal of the extradition bill to stop the prolonged political protest of Hong Kongers.

The protest was one of the worst in Hong Kong’s history with casualties, property damage and financial plummet. HSI lost 13.8% from the closing on March 29 to the closing price on September 3.

However, HSI surged 3.81% to close at 26,500.00 points on Wednesday after the announcement of the formal withdrawal.
