To Be Truly TRUE, Going International Is a Must!

It seems like Thailand is too small for TRUE when the business has high competition, and the customer base is limited, going overseas may be the best way.

It seems like Thailand is too small for True Corporation Public Company Limited (TRUE) when the business is getting more and more competing, and the customer base is limited. When the company needs to increase its valuation, it is necessary to go overseas.

TRUE has developed a platform “TrueID” for market penetration in ASEAN and Asia. TrueID is now expanded to the Philippines and Indonesia while TrueMoney Wallet is now being used in five countries in ASEAN.

The goal has been set. Within three years, TRUE will step up to become a regional company in ASEAN.

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, Chairman of the Board of TRUE and Director of CPF states that the Digital Infrastructure is a new platform, and once TRUE has stepped up to Digital Platform, it is easier for an expansion in international level in which TRUE is currently aiming to be the leader in ASEAN and Asia within three to five years.

The company has set its eyes on India and Pakistan to implement TrueID and TrueMoney on the market while an expansion to China and South Korea market will be next. Especially, China that TRUE is preparing to advance in Hotel Platform by a joint investment with Crave, a UK company, with an investment of 25 million dollars (approx. 800 million baht) to hold 60-70% stake. The business has a high potential for growth in the future.

TRUE’s executives signal that the current position of the business is considerably good and could be a changing point to profit-making. It may look like the business has slowed down in the first half, but apparently, only a few businesses while the recovery will come in the second half, especially broadband business, mobile business, and digital intensive business.

Let’s see if the goal to be a regional company will be accomplished by TRUE or not. However, before getting there, TRUE must deal with its cost that always drags the company backward.
