SET Jumps 16pts as US-Iran Tension Easing, Analysts Advise Defensive/High Dividend Stocks.

SET Index jumped 16 points in five minutes after the opening bell, following positive sentiment in the regional markets as well as the Wall Street overnight.

Stock markets edged higher after the U.S. President Donald Trump gave investors a breathing room by choosing to opt for a new economic sanctions on Iran over taking military action.

KTB Securities (Thailand) states in the morning note that the development in the dispute between the U.S. and Iran varied daily while the announcement of Trump had eased much of the tension built earlier, but the situation must be monitored closely to see if Iran will attack US again or not.

Krungsri Securities (KSS) expects SET to test the resistance level at 1,575-1,580 points and will be weakened later. Meanwhile, Kingsford Securities suggests “BUY” ADVANC, INTUCH, TISCO, KKP, CPF, OSP as defensive stocks & high dividend yield.
