SET Drop nearly 1% after Thai PM Orders a Review on Foreign Arrival Measures.


SET Index continued to slide in the afternoon session as concerns over a new possibility of a coronavirus outbreak weighed on investors sentiment.

SET Index dropped 12.98 points or 0.97% to 1,329.39 points as of 14:47 local time in Thailand (GMT+7).

 

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha apologized for the carelessness of the screening process that caused two individuals, who later tested positive, to violate the quarantine protocol.

The Thai PM issued an order to the government’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to review the easing measure on foreign arrivals and reiterated businesses that already reopened to tighten the screening.
