SET Loses Its Footing to Barely Stand in Positive Territory with a Gain of 1.52pts.


SET Index eased its gain in the morning session to stand slightly above yesterday’s closing level with an increase of 1.52 points or 0.12% to 1,298.31 points at 15:47 local time in Thailand (GMT+7).

 

The index started to decline in the afternoon session after closing with a gain of more than 7 points in the morning after the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) approved the extension of the emergency decree by one month.

On Friday, Eurozone flash PMI (purchasing managers’ index) data for August fell from July’s 54.9 to 51.6 and also below analyst expectations as well.

Yesterday, the U.S. Labor Department reported that the weekly jobless claims stateside was above 1 million. That was higher than a Dow Jones estimate of 923,000 and more than the previous week figure which was lower than 1 million claims.
