Joe Biden Secures the White House’s Seat after the Electoral College Win.

The U.S. electoral college confirms Joe Biden’s presidential victory after clenching 306 electoral college votes on Monday as the Republican’s Trump has 232 votes.

Under the U.S. election system, voters will cast their ballots for electors in the November election, who in turn, formally vote for candidates about a month after the election day. The inauguration of Joe Biden will be on January 20, 2021.

“In this battle for the soul of America, democracy prevailed,” Biden said. “We the people voted. Faith in our institutions held. The integrity of our elections remains intact. And so, now it is time to turn the page. To unite. To heal,” said Biden after the electoral college confirmed his win.

“As I said through this campaign, I will be a president for all Americans,” Biden said. “I will work just as hard for those of you who didn’t vote for me as I will for those who did.”
