Mitsubishi Plans to Cut 16,000 Units Globally in May due to Semiconductor Shortage

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will cut its vehicle production by 16,000 units globally in May due to a semiconductor shortage.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will cut its vehicle production by 16,000 units globally in May after facing a chip shortage crisis.

 

Bloomberg reported that the spokesperson of Mitsubishi Motors Corp. stated that the company is expecting a production cut of as much as 16,000 units in May with the output to be reduced at its Okazaki and Mizushima plants. In March, the automaker said that it was expecting a production cut of around 4,000-5,000 units for the month due to a shortage of semiconductors and was reviewing the production plan for April.

 

The global vehicle production of Mitsubishi Corp dropped in February to 88,754 units, compared to 90,745 units in January.
