GULF Clarifies the Disturbance Noises at Nong Saeng PP, Asserting No Harms to Communities

GULF has made a clarification regarding the disturbance noises over the night at Nong Saeng power plant, asserting no harms to the communities.


Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) has made a clarification regarding the disturbance noises from the Nong Saeng power plant at approximately 2:30 am on November 19, 2019.

GULF has stated that initial investigations revealed that there was a leak in the welded pipe joints, causing emissions of disturbance noises for approximately 20 minutes. The steam leak is not harmful to the community’s health and does not have an impact on the surrounding environment at all.

In this regard, the steam pipe is not considered as main equipment of the power plant and GULF will be able to fix the damages within 3 days without any impact to other assets of the power plant. There were no injuries from the incident and no impact on the performance of the Group at all.

The Nong Saeng power plant is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) with an installed power generation capacity of 1,600 megawatts located in Nong Saeng district, Saraburi province, operated by Gulf JP NS Company Limited, which is one of the associates of GULF.
