Total Access Communication Public Company Limited (DTAC), one of the telecom operators, is the first one in Thailand to use the Virtualized Core Network (VCN) at work, which is the most modern technology that will be able to upgrade to 5G in the future.

Meanwhile, DTAC also joined hands with “Telenor”, an allies which the EU had entrusted with the initiative of 5G Verticals INNovation Infrastructure (5G-VINNI) in Europe. The company has been testing 5G usability on driverless buses, eHealth Services and fish farms, etc.

DTAC affirms that the company will use the knowledge from this project to develop 5G technology in Thailand. The company has been paving ways for 5G by initiating EV Platform and Digital Agriculture.

Alexandra Reich, CEO of DTAC, stated that between 2020-2023, Thailand will be transiting to the era of 5G. The most outstanding changes that 5G technology will bring are; 1) Working performance. 2) Increasing market value. 3) Rise of new businesses from 5G. Those who fail to prepare for this change will fall behind.

DTAC has fully prepared in the development of 5G in Thailand and invested quite a lot for the preparation. The company has also established 15 teams to consult with partners while working on testing the system and network continuously.

“Thailand is slowly  transferring to the 5G era, which is a great opportunity,” said Alexandra Reich. “I would like to congratulate DTAC’s customer by telling you that you will continue the journey with DTAC and 5G for sure”.
