PTTEP Announces the Gas Discovery in Offshore Sarawak SK417 Project, Malaysia

PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) announced that PTTEP HK Offshore Limited (Malaysia Branch) (PTTEP HKO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTTEP, has successfully made a discovery of gas at the Dokong-1, in Sarawak SK417 Project, located in offshore Malaysia.

Commenced in November 2020, the drilling of Dokong-1 was targeted at non-associated gas in the sandstone reservoir and undertaken to a total depth of 3,810 meters. The well encountered 80 meters of net gas pay, indicating gas discovery. The second exploration well will be drilled in the middle of this year. This high-quality gas discovery at Dokong-1 presents future synergy development and production opportunity as a cluster development with the previously discovered adjacent Sarawak SK410B Project.

Sarawak SK417 Project is located in the shallow waters, approximately 90 kilometers offshore Sarawak, with the acreages of approximately 1,540 square kilometers. The consortium consists of PTTEP HKO (as the Operator), PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. with participating interests of 80%, and 20% respectively.
