CPN Shuts Down CTW for Inspection, Expecting to Resume the Operation at Noon

CPN has decided to close CTW for inspection after the incident yesterday. It is expected to resume operation on April 11, 2019.


Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) has made an announcement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand regarding the incident on April 10, 2019, at around 17.40 Hours, fumes occurred at the smoke ventilation area on the 8th floor at the CentralWorld shopping mall (CTW). The CTW immediately evacuated the people from the premises. The fumes were successfully put under control at around 18.10 Hours.

 

Unfortunately, the incident brought about 16 injuries and 2 casualties, both of whom were employees to the company. CPN expresses its deepest condolences to families of the deceased and injured and will take responsibility with best effort to support them.

Meanwhile, the root cause of the fumes and the value of the damage are under investigation and assessment. CPN has insurance policies to cover the damages including Industrial All Risk Insurance, Business Interruption Insurance, Public Liability Insurance and other related insurances.

 

To carefully assess the situation and consider the safety of all stakeholders as a top priority, CPN will temporarily close the offices at CentralWorld and the CTW to perform an inspection jointly with the related parties on April 11, 2019.

Hence, the Offices at CentralWorld and the CTW is expected to resume operation on April 11, 2019 at 12.00 and 14.00 Hours respectively.
