BGRIM Lays Foundation Stone of 140MW Cogeneration PP, Targeting 7,200MW Capacity in 2025


B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (BGRIM) on February 19, 2021, together with B.Grimm Power (Laem Chabang) 1 Limited, celebrated the foundation stone laying ceremony for a combined cycle co-generation at Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi Province. 

 

Mr. Harald Link, Chairman of BGRIM, said that B.Grimm Power (Laem Chabang) 1 Limited is located in Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi Province to operate a combined cycle co-generation under the Small Power Producer contract (SPP) to serve domestic industry such as Thai automotive, packaging, chemical, etc., and to generate electricity in the Eastern Special Development Zone (EEC). 

 

The new combined cycle co-generation with a 140MW installed capacity will replace the current 103MW plant after existing PPA with EGAT expired. The aforesaid cogeneration power plant is scheduled to commence the COD in 2022.

 

BGRIM has 5 cogeneration power plants in EEC under construction, with a combined installed capacity of 700MW, in accordance with the government’s SPP replacement plan. All power plants have entered into a 25-year PPA with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

 

At present, BGRIM has 48 power plant projects with a combined capacity of 3,058MW, targeting to increase total capacity to 7,200MW by 2025.
