CPF Adopts Maximum Health Measures for Workers-Production Safety in Saraburi Factory

As of May 30, 2021, CPF received 391 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases at Saraburi poultry slaughter house, thus the company applied maximum health measures for the safety of workers and food products.

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) announced that the company has placed its employees’ health and safety, including their families, as a top priority and cooperated with the authorities to proactively implement the COVID-19 testing at Saraburi poultry slaughter house of CPF (Thailand) Public Company Limited (CPFTH), a subsidiary of the company. Upon the proactive testing, as of May 30, 2021, the company received 391 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases. In this regard, the company has implemented actions as follows:

1.Employee: All employees are subjected to COVID-19 tests and those with positive results are admitted. Employees in high risk groups are put under state quarantine for 14 days and perform 2-times COVID-19 testing while those in low risk groups are required to place themselves under self-quarantine for the same period. For employees’ health safety, health measures will be strictly followed. It is assured that the confirmed positive workers did not have direct physical contact with food. While working, they wore uniforms and face masks which fully covered mouths and noses, which resulted in a large reduction in risk of infection.

2.Workplace: The operating areas where the confirmed positive employees worked were closed immediately and will remain closed for 5 days. The plant immediately organized a big cleaning and sprayed the entire areas with disinfectants in line with health measures to ensure zero contamination in the plant’s work environment. A lab test will be required to confirm that the areas are disease-free. Only workers with negative test results will be allowed to return to work. Then, the hygienic production process can smoothly resume with workplace safety and healthy workers.

CPF has applied maximum health measures for the safety of workers’ health, their families and food products. The capacity of this poultry slaughter house represents not more than 10% of the total broiler production capacity of the group. The rest remains operational with full compliance with the Public Health Ministry’s prevention measures, with full awareness of the safety of workers, including their families, and all products.
