BCPG Starts COD of Two New Green Power Projects in Thailand and Japan

BCPG has recently started commercial operations of two solar power projects in Thailand and Japan with a combined production capacity of 27MW


Bundit Sapianchai, BCPG Public Company Limited (BCPG)’s CEO, disclosed that the company has recently started commercial operations of two solar power projects in Thailand and Japan; 7.7-MW solar rooftop at CMU Smart City Project in Chiang Mai and 20-MW solar power plant in Chiba, Japan. The total production capacity of the new COD projects is 27 MW.

BCPG’s Chiba power project is located in Chiba province. The company has entered into a 100% power purchase agreement with Tokyo Electric Power Company under the TK scheme. The Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) rate under such agreement is 36 Yen/kWh.

“The total production capacity of our projects in Japan is 89.7 MW. Now we have 34.7 MW of COD projects. Other solar power projects, with the total production capacity of 55 MW, are still under development”, said Bundit  

In addition, BCPG also commences commercial operation of the first phase of CMU Smart City Project, with total production capacity of 7.7 MW; meanwhile, another 4.3 MW is still under development. The CMU Smart City Project is located within two campus zones of Chiangmai University (CMU), namely, Suan Sak – Suan Dok and Mae Hea. TDED, a joint venture between BCPG and PEA ENCOM International Co., Ltd., has been developing the project under a 20-year power purchase agreement with CMU.
