BOT to Keep a Close Eye on Baht Movement after Strengthen to 29.92 per Dollar!

On the last business day of 2019, Thai baht strengthened past 30 baht per dollar for the first time since 2013 to 29.92 baht per dollar before closing the day at 30.02 per dollar.

Bank of Thailand Assistant Governor Vachira Arromdee said that Thai currency is normalizing even as it remains volatile.

“Liquidity in the market is returning to normal levels, but there still remains high fluctuations in the baht as the market is still adjusting between the buying and selling of USD,” said Vachira.

He also asserted that BOT will keep a close eye on baht movements.
