Despite a plummet of 0.72% in the Thai stock market, following the decline in regional market and US market overnight due to a decline in WTI oil price that entered a negative territory for the first time in history, stocks related to power generation were able to outperform the market with a gain of mostly 2.5-3.5%.
Stocks related to power generation are considered one of the stocks with least impact from the outbreak of COVID-19. The share price of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (BGRIM) surged ฿1.50/share or 3.57% to ฿43.50/share as of 15:40 local time in Thailand on Tuesday. Ratch Group Public Company Limited (RATCH) also gained 1.26% as well. Eastern Printing Public Company Limited (EPCO) and Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO) rose 2.58% and 3.69%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) started to recover after the change in par value, edging up ฿0.25/share or 0.69% to trade at ฿36.25/share.
