Krungsri Securities (KSS) released an analysis for the trading session on February 17, 2021 indicating the essential events in the stock market as follows;
KSS stated that the SET Index yesterday inched up 0.4 point (+0.03%) to close at 1,523 in Bt88b turnover. Despite optimism over US stimulus and firm, high oil prices, selling pressure in DELTA and OR dampened sentiment and pared gains.
The SET is expected to move within 1,515-1,520 points today. Sentiment would be bolstered by the spike in oil prices following the temporary closure of refineries in Texas amid severe snowstorms. Speculation in results for selected stocks could also lend support. However, tight SET valuation and potential selling pressure in OR after it failed to meet criteria for fast-track inclusion into the FTSE index calculation could push the index lower.
The security company projected OR to deliver Bt2.2b net profit for 4Q20 (-36% QoQ, +13% YoY) and Bt8,071m for FY20 (-13% YoY). PTT is expected to report Bt14b net profit for 4Q20 (flat QoQ, -19% YoY).
