UAC Budgets 3 Billion Baht to Acquire a 20MW-Power Plant


Mr. Chatchaphol Prasopchoke, Chief Executive Officer and President of UAC Global Public Company Limited (UAC), has revealed through Stock Market News or “ข่าวหุ้นเจาะตลาด” program via a radio station, SMM Sport Radio FM 96 MHz and Facebook page : ข่าวหุ้นธุรกิจ / ข่าวหุ้นเจาะตลาด (tv.kaohoon) / YouTube Channel : หนังสือพิมพ์ข่าวหุ้นธุรกิจ on March 3, 2020 at 9:40, that the core income structure and company business divides into 3 sectors comprised of 1. a holding business 2. a renewable energy and alternative energy business and 3. a chemical business 

Currently, UAC is focusing on a new project, the local powerhouse by establishing a model station at Amphoe Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai and in Khon Kaen with the capacity of 3-megawatt. UAC expected to commence its commercial operation within this year and announced its preparation of joining the Quick Win Policy.

The opening ceremony of the project scheduled on March 11, 2020 which has Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as a Guest of Honor and for the further information, UAC will release it in the early of March. 

The power plant under Quick Win Policy will separate the auction into 2 phases, the bidding of capacity of 100-megawatt, which estimated to COD within 2020, and the local powerhouse of 600-megawatt. The auctions projects to be done by the end of this year.  

“The company intended to acquire the local powerhouse installed capacity of 20-megawatt with an investment budget approx. 2 – 3 billion baht, by considering the experiences, the readiness and the potential of technology, UAC has a confidence to be awarded about the capacity of 3-megawatt from Quick Win” said by Chatchaphol    

UAC also plans to further invest in Lao PDR after the company has acquired waste management project in Vientiane, Lao PDR for 45 years. UAC is now under the construction of waste-to-energy plant with the capacity of 6-megawatt phase 1, scheduled to complete in the end of 2021 and forecasted the internal rate of return at 15-16%.
