Thailand’s Real Wage to Grow by 2.7% in 2021, Ranking 3rd in Asia Pacific, Says ECA.


Thailand’s real wage is expected to rise by 2.7% in 2021, ranking the third-place in Top 10 forecast real salary increases globally along with Singapore and Colombia, said the ECA International’s Salary Trends Survey on Thursday. 

 

Salaries growth in Asia Pacific are forecast to grow at a higher rate than the rest of the world in 2021 by an average of 4.3% as employers believe the region is emerging from the worst of the pandemic.

 

The top 10 rankings are dominated by eight Asia Pacific countries, leading by Indonesia, which estimates the real wage to rise by 3.8% neat year, up from 2.6% this year. The following nation is Israel with a forecast growth rate of 2.8% in 2021. 

“Few countries are expected to see a significant rise in the level of real salary increases in 2021, but there are exceptions to this within the Asia Pacific region,” the report noted.
