Breaking News! The House Impeaches Trump on Abuse Power and Obstruction of Congress!

The majority of U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved two specific charges of impeachment against U.S. President Donald Trump.

 

The first article is for the abuse of his presidential power by freezing aid to Ukraine in order to pressure the country to launch an investigation on his political rival. The second article charges Trump with obstruction of Congress by refusing to release documents, requested lawfully by the House Intelligence Committee, related to his actions.

Two Democrats voted with Republicans on both articles while another Democrat representative voted yes on the first article and no on the second.

Trump is the third in the American history to be impeached by the House.

 

The proceedings now move to a trial in the U.S. Senate, which will give the final decision on whether to remove Trump from the office or to free him. Still, Republicans hold a 53-47 edge in the chamber while the conviction requires 67 votes.
