SPCG Adds ฿580mn to Ukujima Mega Solar Project to Follow the Investment Plan


Miss Wandee Khunchornyakong, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of SPCG Public Company Limited (SPCG) revealed the progress of Ukujima Mega Solar Project, the largest Solar Farm in Japan with the total capacity of 480 Megawatt. As of May 18, 2020, SPCG has  made its second capital injection of 1,924,187,000 yen equivalent to 579,788,330 baht. The remaining amount of 64,828,000 yen or approx. 19,533,713 baht will be executed within September 2020.

SPCG earlier on March 26, 2020, has invested for the first injection of 2,289,680,925 yen or 689,917,497 baht. The entire project investment is 178,758,689,000 yen or 54,541,421,118 baht, but due to a shareholding in the proportion of 17.92%, SPGC set to divide an investment into 5 periods, totaling 9,000,000,000 yen equivalent to 2,703,742,494 baht.    

The Ukujima Mega Solar Project has started construction since 2019 and subjects to complete by 2023. The project is a grounding solar panels and Agri-Solar system, therefore it marked as eco-friendly. At the same time, it also encourages agriculture and farming in Ukujima. Moreover it helps reducing the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) by more than 270,000 tons/year.
