TU Clarifies the Fire Incident at Lobster Plant in Canada, No Injuries Report


Thai Union Group Public Company Limited (TU) addressed regarding to a fire at the Chez Nous lobster processing plant, a subsidiary of TU, in Tracadie-Sheila, New Brunswick, Canada on May 21, 2020. At the time of the fire, there were approximately 330 employees working at the plant. All employees have been accounted for with no injuries reported and local fire personnel responded swiftly. The cause of the fire and extent of the damage is still being assessed. The plant carries insurance against damage caused by fire. The management team at the plant continue to work with local authorities, fire and police personnel.

 

TU owns 100 percent of Chez Nous which, in 2019, contributed approximately 1.9 percent of annual Group revenue. TU will be able to provide further updates as they become available.
