Biden to Reimpose a Covid-19 Ban on Travelers Arriving from UK, Brazil and South Africa

Joe Biden to reimpose travel restrictions on non-US citizens who have been in the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Brazil to prevent the new Covid-19 strains.

The US President Joe Biden set to extend a travel ban on non-US citizens entering the country who were recently in South Africa amid warning that the new more transmissible variant of coronavirus are already establishing themselves in the US, said the US report.

Biden will also reinstate travel restrictions to travelers who have been in the UK, Ireland and much of Europe as well as Brazil, where new virus strains have emerged, a White House official said Sunday, nearly a week after former President Donald Trump, in his last day in office, ordered a removal of ban on non-US citizens arriving from Europe and Brazil despite more Covid-19 straints have emerged across the world.

As of now, the US has reportedly confirmed more than 25 million cases of Covid-19 infection, and about 419,000 have been killed by the contagious disease in the US since the pandemic started, according to Johns Hopkins University’s data.
