Covid-19 Deaths in Thailand Continue Reaching Record High despite Vaccine Rollout

Death Toll from Covid-19 in Thailand continued to surge to a new high even with the government's effort in vaccine rollout.


The Covid-19 situation in Thailand got worse after reporting a record high of daily death toll while confirmed cases were second-highest in the historical record in Thailand.

 

On July 2, 2021, Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported 6,087 confirmed cases with another 61 deaths. Currently, Thailand has accumulated 242,058 cases and 2,047 deaths since the start of this new wave on April 1, 2021.

Around 10% of the population in Thailand has received the first Covid-19 vaccine, while only 4% has been fully vaccinated. The vaccines used in Thailand are mostly AstraZeneca and Sinovac.
