STA Receives a License for Hemp Cultivation, Expecting to Harvest in Early 2022

STA's subsidiary has granted a permit to grow hemp plants in Lampang province. The outputs from the hemp plants will be supplied to a customer with whom STA has agreed on a business partnership.


Sri Trang AgroIndustry Public Company Limited (STA) announced that on 25 October 2021, the Food and Drug Administration has considered issuing a license to produce (plant) drugs in category 5, only for hemp, license number Lor Por6/2021 (Por) to its subsidiary Sri Trang Rubber and Plantation (SRP) for commercial or industrial purposes. 

SRP has granted a permit to grow hemp plants in Amphur Tern, Lampang province. The outputs from the hemp plants will be supplied to a customer with whom SRP has agreed on a business partnership.

In order to make differentiate of hemp products of the company and promote good image in long term, the concept of “Digital Traceability” will be applied to all products that are supplied to customers in order to make its hemp products stand out in the marketplace and create added value to the hemp plantation as well as to develop long standing relationships with customers.

The company expects to harvest crops from the experimental plot in early 2022.
