PTTEP Makes Another Gas Discovery in Malaysia’s Sarawak SK417 Offshore Project

PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) announced that PTTEP HK Offshore Limited (Malaysia Branch) or PTTEP HKO, a wholly-owned subsidiary of  PTTEP, has successfully made gas discovery at the second exploration well, Nangka-1, in Sarawak SK417 Project, located in offshore Malaysia following the gas discovery in Dokong field, earlier this year.

Commenced in June 2021,the Nangka-1 exploration well was drilled to a total depth of 3,758 meters where it encountered gas pay in sandstone reservoir.

Sarawak SK417 Project is located in the shallow waters, approximately 90 kilometers offshore Sarawak, with an acreages of approximately 1,540 square kilometers. The consortium consists of PTTEP HKO (as the operator), PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. with participating interests of 80%, and 20% respectively.
