Thai Tourism in Jan-June Generates ฿1tn from Foreign Tourists, Expecting a Rebound in 2H!
During January to June, there were a total of 19.6 million tourists visiting Thailand, increased 0.7 YoY, and generated a total of THB 1.01 trillion.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports states that foreign tourists in June generated total receipts of THB 144 billion from a total of 2.9 million tourists.
During January to June, there were a total of 19.6 million tourists visiting Thailand, increased 0.7 YoY, and generated a total of THB 1.01 trillion for the period, increased 0.3% YoY. From the data, visitors from China, Malaysia, and India topped foreign arrivals
The ministry expects Thai tourism in the second half of 2019 to rebound along with the support from the government measurement. A total of THB 3.2 trillion in the receipt is expected from full-year tourism, and THB 2.1 trillion in the receipt is expected from foreign tourists.
In addition, the ministry will look to promote secondary destinations to support increasing visitor numbers.
