Kobe Bryant, an NBA superstar and a global iconic in basketball, died in a helicopter crash at age 41 along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other passengers in Southern California on Sunday.

The report stated that the crash was on a steep hillside in the dense morning fog in Calabasas, South California, about 48 kilometers northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff has yet to confirm the identity of the victims, but people familiar with the case said that the NBA superstar and his daughter were killed.

Kobe Bryant spent his entire 20-year career in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers as a shooting guard, an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, 12-time member of the All-Defensive team, and the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), a 2-time Finals MVP, and 5-time NBA Champion.

“Words can’t describe the pain I am feeling. I loved Kobe – he was like a little brother to me,” said a retired NBA superstar Michael Jordan. “We used to talk often, and I will miss those conversations very much. He was a fierce competition, one of the greats of the game and a creative force”.

Reporters caught LeBron James shaken and wiped his eyes with tissues then walked away alone after the Lakers plane just landed.
