PTTEP Commences the Natural Gas Production “Block H”, Targeting to Product 270Mn MMSCFD

PTTEP Sabah Oil Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), and its joint venture partners announced that the first phase of Block H Project development had been completed. Natural gas production, at the depths greater than 1,100 meters from Rotan and Buluh deepwater fields of the Block H Production Sharing Contract (PSC), commenced on 6 February 2021, for delivering to PETRONAS Floating Liquefied Natural Gas-2 (PFLNG2) facility. The production will ramp up to a target rate of 270 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

This milestone signifies success in the project and will strengthen PTTEP investment portfolio in Malaysia. Moreover, it also showcases offshore expertise, technological capabilities and collaboration of PTTEP, PETRONAS and joint venture partners.

The Block H Project is operated by PTTEP Sabah Oil Limited with 56% interest in the Rotan field and 42% interest in the remaining area. The joint venture partners include PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. and PT Pertamina Malaysia Eksplorasi Produksi.
