ADVANC Pays ฿448Mn Compensation to End Dispute with NT

ADVANC announces the dispute settlement with National Telecom Public Company Limited


Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (ADVANC) announces that the company  has agreed to settle some of the legal disputes between the company and the company’s  subsidiary, Digital Phone Co., Ltd. (DPC) against TOT Public Company Limited (TOT) and CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT) which have been merged into National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT).

The settlement relates to some of the ongoing legal disputes that arose from the past Agreement for Mobile Telecommunication Operations which are no longer in effect. These include the claims made by TOT/CAT as well as the claims by AIS/DPC. The settled  disputes mainly constitute of (1) the claim for revenue share on interconnection charge between TOT/CAT and AIS/DPC, (2) the claim for revenue share on roaming fee between  CAT and DPC, (3) the claim for the transfer of telecom equipment between CAT and DPC, and (4) the claim for revenue share on international direct dialing service between TOT/CAT and AIS/DPC, details of which as disclosed in the Annual Report.

ADVANC agreed to pay for dispute settlement to NT in an amount of 447.87 million Baht. The company and NT hence submitted dispute withdrawal to the Administrative Court, and agreed that both parties will no longer raise any future claim on the settled disputes. This settlement supports all parties to fairly manage the company’s ongoing business operations.
