TOP/GPSC Receives ฿161bln from BOI to Build Mega Projects!

After the meeting with prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, BOI has approved 4 big projects including TOP and GPSC’s plants.


Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General Board of Investment (BOI), has revealed after the Boards Meeting with prime minister general Prayut Chan-o-cha ,sitting as a chairman, that the boards have approved its support on the investment of 4 major projects for a total of 167,679 million baht.

 

1st Project : Siam DENSO manufacturing Co., Ltd.

BOI will support the production of fuel injection parts for diesel engine to meet Euro standard. The total investment would cost 3,973 million baht, and the plant that will be located in Chonburi Province will use domestic parts more than 2,632 million baht per year. This will improve Thailand’s domestic engine parts businesses.

 

2nd Project : Thai Oil Public Company Limited (TOP)

BOI will support the production of petroleum, using 156.621 million baht for the investment. The site will be located in Chonburi Province as a crude oil refinery and provider, especially plane fuel, considering Chonburi is a major hub for land and air transportation in the Eastern Economic Corridor.

The plant will also increase the stability of energy in long-term, meet with higher demands and further the petrochemical business.

 

3rd Project : Nava Nakorn Electricity Generating Company Limited

BOI will support 60MW production of natural gas and 10tph of steam turbine with the total of 3,105 million baht for investment in Pathumthani Province. This project will be built as a combined cycle power plant, an assembly of heat engines that work in tandem from the same source of heat, converting it into mechanical energy, which in turn usually drives electrical generators. The plant will help saving energy and creating the stability of Thailand’s energy.

 

4th Project : Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC)

BOI will support 57MW production of natural gas and 70tph of steam turbine with the total of 3,980 million baht for investment in Rayong Province. The GPSC project has the same roadmap with Nava Nakorn’s, which is a combined cycle power plant, and the project will help saving energy and creating the stability of Thailand’s energy.

 

Ms. Duangjai states that the boards have approved a draft of TOR to allow individual company to joint venture in the 3rd phase of Map Ta Phut Port Expansion project. She has left a hint that BOI will prepare to invest in tourism next.
