BGRIM’s “U-Tapao” 145MW HPP Proposal Contents, 135MW 2nd Phase within Reach!

The 145MW hybrid power plant project that BGRIM proposes to the committee has received the Letter of Intent, and hoping to get the 2nd phase project as well.


Following on the proposal of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (BGRIM) on September  10, 2018, for operating power plant and cooling water project at U-Tapao International Airport to submit to a committee for the purpose of selection for operating a power plant and cooling water project (the “Selection Committee”).

 

The plan to operate hybrid power plant which will be effective and able to create the most power system stability consists of two phases:

(a) Project Phase I consisting of Co-generation Power Plant 80-Megawatt (MW), Solar Farm 15MW, and Energy Storage System (ESS) 50-MW hour.

(b) Project Phase II consisting of Co-generation Power Plant 80MW, Solar Farm and/or Solar Rooftop and/or Floating Solar Farm 55MW.

The power generated from this plant will fed 80MW to Royal Thai Navy, 40MW to U-Tapao International Airport and other businesses in the airport. The rest of the power generation will be used to develop Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

 

The development and construction of the Project Phase I and Phase II will be undertaken during 2018 – 2021, and 2021 – 2023, respectively. Under BGRIM’s proposal, the company expects that the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of the Project Phase I for the primary responsibility area at U-Tapao International Airport and for the secondary responsibility area at the Royal Thai Navy Electric Welfare Concession, including the distribution of cold water to U-Tapao International Airport according to the plan, will be achieved by January 2021.

 

BGRIM also informs that on September 27, 2018, the Royal Thai Navy has issued the Letter of Intent notifying BGRIM of the result of the selection for operating power plants and cooling water project at U-Tapao International Airport. BGRIM’s proposal has been selected for construction of power plant in the Project Phase I (construction of Co-generation Power Plant 80-Megawatt), thus BGRIM is required to prepare the project details in accordance with the Terms of Reference (TOR).

For the construction of the solar power plants under BGRIM’s proposal, the company is well prepared to further collaborate and take into consideration with the Selection Committee, the Royal Thai Navy and other relevant authority agencies in order to identify and procure suitable areas for the project development according to the Terms of Reference (TOR) and BGRIM’s proposal.

 

BGRIM will further fully comply with rules and regulations of the Security Exchange Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand regarding the execution of an acquisition transaction and the disclosure when preparation of the details relating to the Terms of Reference (TOR), including the agreements relating thereto has been completed.
