The Constitutional Court Rules to Dissolve Junta Opposition, Thai Raksa Chart Party

The Constitutional Court has ruled to dissolved Thai Raksa Chart Party, revoking executives from engaging in political activities for 10 years.

On March 7, 2019, the Constitutional Court has ruled that Thai Raksa Chart Party be dissolved for nominating the King Rama X’s sister, Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya, as its candidate for prime minister in the election to be held on March 24, 2019.

Thai Constitution states that all royal family members cannot take political office. Even though Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya relinquished her titles in 1972 when she married a commoner, she is still considered a member of the Thai royal family which is above the politic.
