Myanmar's MOEE Approved the COD for “Minbu Solar” as of 27-Sep!


The Myanmar government has officially signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Minbu Solar Power Plant Project with a total installed capacity of 220 MW, located in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

 

The project had commenced its first-phase operation since September 27, 2019, honored by Aung San Suu Kyi in the opening ceremony. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) had been signed by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) on November 19, 2019.

The Minbu Project is a joint venture project between Scan Inter Public Company Limited (SCN), East Coast Furnitech Public Company Limited (ECF) and Meta Corporation Public Company Limited (META). The group will record the FIT rate of USD 0.1275 per kilowatt-hour.

The Project with a total capacity of 220 MW consists of four phases. The first three phases will have an installed capacity of 50 MW each, while the last phase will contain 70 MW. Currently, the second, third and fourth phases are in the process of adjusting for the most efficient way to complete the project as fast as it could.
