Thailand Approves 7 Covid-19 Vaccines Including "Pfizer-Moderna” before Reopening Phuket

Thailand has approved seven Covid-19 vaccines including Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna in preparation for the country reopening on July 1.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said foreign visitors who have been vaccinated will be allowed to spend only seven days in quarantine, while unvaccinated travelers will be requested to quarantine for 10 days unless they arrive from one of 11 countries – South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Cameroon, Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Ghana – will still have to do the full two weeks in quarantine.

With hopes to revive the tourism industry, Thailand will reopen Phuket on July 1, for international tourists without quarantine, but will be required to stay a certain time in Phuket before leaving to other destinations in Thailand.

Additionally, those inoculated visitors must have certificates approved by FDA Thailand and/or the World Health Organization.
