Thai Stock Market Roundup July 02, 2019

A short summary to inform you of what had happened in Thai stock market on July 2, 2019.


SET closed at 1732.23 points, decreased 8.68 points or 0.50% with a trading value of THB 66.15 billion. Even though major indices in Asia markets closed mixed, SET closed slightly lower than most. The index still couldn’t surpass the resistance level at 1,750 points, and would need new factors to buoy the market.

After a jump in recent days, analysts saw that the market would face speculation during the uncertainty of government forming which is expected to be complete in July. Moreover, investors are keeping a close eye on the meeting between OPEC and OPEC+ in Vienna for approval of cutting oil output.

Institutions and Individuals net sold by THB 3,417.46 million while Foreign Investors continue to net buy Thai shares by THB 2,195.65 million.

GSTEL changed the securities symbol to GSTEEL.

CK acquired two projects from TTW for a total of THB 349.69 million.

OPEC agreed to cut oil output by 9 months, moving forward to discuss with Russia and OPEC+ today.

SISB closed the day at ฿7.95/share, rosed ฿0.40/share or 5.30%. During the session, the highest of SISB’s share price was at ฿8.00/share and the lowest was ฿7.60/share with a trading value of THB 177,735 million. The hike in the SISB’s share price might due to the effect of an increase in the number of students and education fees.

ORI closed the day at ฿8.65/share, increased ฿0.70/share or 8.81%. During the session, the highest of ORI’s share price was at ฿8.65/share and the lowest was ฿7.90/share with a trading value of THB 796,716 million. ORI’s share price has increased after launching 2 big projects which the analyst maintained “Outperform” at the target price of ฿11.10/share.
