MOC Expects CPI to Expand Less Than 1% after a 0.87% Increase in 8-Month

MOC has revealed that Thailand CPI or inflation rate in August was at 102.80 points, resulting in an average of 0.87%.


Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has revealed on September 2, 2019, that Thailand Consumer Price Index (CPI) or inflation rate in August was at 102.80 points, increased 0.52% YoY and decreased 0.19% QoQ, resulting in an average of 0.87% in eight months period and expecting to expand less than 1% in 2019, inline with the target of Bank of Thailand.

Thailand Core CPI in August was at 102.61 points, increased 0.49% YoY and 0.09% QoQ, resulting in an increase of 0.55% in eight months period.

Meanwhile, the index in food and beverage excluding alcohol was at 104.89 points, increased 2.63% YoY, but decreased 0.30% QoQ.
