Cabinet Agrees with Price Control Policy, Sending Negative Sentiment to Hospital Stocks

The Cabinet has agreed with the Central Committee on Prices of Goods and Services Price to put medical supplies, services, and drugs on price control policy, sending negative sentiment to hospital stocks again.


Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong, Minister of Commerce, has announced that the cabinet has agreed with the Central Committee on Prices of Goods and Services Price to put medical supplies, services, and drugs on price control policy from 2019 onwards. The subcommittee will be selected to administer in further detail of this policy for the fairness of both patients and hospitals.

“We ask capital markets not to worry about the controlling policy of the government, and we will be fair to every parties.” said Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong.

Hospital stocks once plunged heavily on January 9 and 10, 2019 after the Central Committee on Prices of Goods and Services Price had approved a price control policy.
