RATCH Joins ALT to Develop Underground Optic Fiber Network Project

RATCH and ALT have entered into an agreement to participate in the underground optic fiber network project.


Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited (RATCH) has reported that on February 5, 2019, the company and ALT Telecom Public Company Limited (ALT) had entered into a shareholders agreement for the participation in the underground optic fiber network project with a registered capital of 1 million baht, divided into 100,000 ordinary shares, valuing at ฿10/share.

Both investors expected an establishment of a new joint venture company will be completed by April 2019, while RATCH will hold 49% stake in the project and ALT will hold 51% stake.

 

The purpose of this investment is to invest in telecommunications and related business in Thailand which consist of:

  1. The investment in an installation of optic fiber network and related equipment subjected to the communication cables relocation projects that are supported by the government, covering potential areas in Thailand, whether by wiring communication cable through underground conduits or by other methods that would promote tidy, beautiful, and safe landscape.
  2. Other businesses.

RATCH expected returns on investment from the project by investment proportion, and this investment is aligned with RATCH’s strategy to expand investment opportunities to other types of business and with RATCH’s growth objectives.
