BTS Agrees to ฿65/Trip Fare Cap, Shouldering ฿100bn Debt in Exchange of Concession.


Mr. Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of BTS Group Holdings Public Company Limited (BTS) has stated that the company agreed to limit the train fare of Green Line to 65 baht per trip in the negotiation with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).

Moreover, BTS has agreed to shoulder about 100,000 million baht of debt from the expansion of Green Line after BMA took over the project from Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA).

However, the extension of the Green Line’s concession has yet to be revealed of how long the extension will be. The expiration of Green Line will be in 2029.

Mr. Keeree said that the negotiation is now completed, and in the process of getting an approval from the cabinet.
