GULF Commences the Operation of 25MW “Gulf Chana Green Biomass Project”.


Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) has announced that Gulf Chana Green Company Limited, a subsidiary which GULF holds 100% equity stake, and the operator of Gulf Chana Green Biomass Project (GCG), commenced the sale of electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on March 1, 2020.

 

The GCG power project is GULF’s first biomass power plant, using parawood as fuel, and is located in Chana district, Songkhla province, with an installed power generation capacity of 25.0 megawatts. GCG has a 25 year power purchase agreement with EGAT and receives adder of THB 1.3/kWh for 7 years. The commercial operation commencement of GCG was completed according to the plan.
