THAI Temporarily Cancels Flights Apr 1-May 31, Expecting Less Negativity in the Overall

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced a temporary flight cancellation during April 1 – May 31, 2020 due to the pandemic of the covid-19 virus that is still intensifying in every region across the world and in order to reduce the impact of virus spreading.

THAI is necessary to reduce the regular flights by canceling the fights and reducing the production volume to be consistent with the number of passengers that have decreased continuously. The temporary flight cancellation during April 1 – May 31, 2020 will have less overall negative effects than the continued operation.

However, THAI still provides freight service on certain routes and may arrange special flights if there are a lot of passengers left behind and has been coordinated by relevant government agencies.

For domestic routes, THAI will continue operating with ThaiSmiles, a 100% subsidiary.

And for other businesses such as catering, ground customer services for customer airlines, cargo handling, reservation and ticketing offices, and Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) office, still normally operate and THAI will be ready to resume in full capacity as soon as the end of situation.
