Thai Exports Beat Expectation in April, Posting 2.12% Expansion, Imports Contract 17.13%!


The Ministry of Commerce has announced an expansion in Thai exports by 2.12% in April with a total value of USD 18,948 million, contrasted to the market forecast for a contraction of 3-4.6%. Meanwhile, Imports contracted by 17.13% with a total value of USD 16,486 million. April posted a trade surplus of USD 2,462.3 million.

 

As for the first four months in 2020, Thai exports expanded 1.19% while imports contracted 5.72% with a trade surplus of USD 6,396 million.
