CKP Reports a Significant Increase of 2,939% in 3Q Profit, Booking ฿831Mn!

CK Power Public Company Limited (CKP) has reported its 3Q20 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;

CKP recorded a net profit of 831 million baht in 3Q20, increased 2,393% compared to a net profit of 33 million baht in the same quarter last year. A significant increase in net profit for the quarter was primarily from the recognition of the share of profit from investment in Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant (XPCL), the increase in revenue from sales of electricity of Nam Ngum 2 Power Company Limited (NN2) as a result of more rainfall in Lao PDR and the decrease in Finance Cost compared to the same period last year.

On 9 August 2020, Xayaburi Hydroelectric Power Plant reached its full production capacity for the first time since COD, as a result of higher average water flow following more rainfall in Lao PDR. The power plant continued to operate near its full production capacity throughout August and September 2020.
