BPP Gains 2.3% after the COD Announcement of “Kurokawa Solar PP” in Japan.


The share price of Banpu Power Public Company Limited (BPP) as of 15:40 on December 19, 2019, rose 0.40/share or 2.29% to trade at 17.90/share after the report of the successful commercial operation of Kurokawa Solar Power Plant in Japan with a capacity of 18.90 MW.

 

In the announcement, BPP stated that Kurokawa Solar Power Plant Project, which BPP has invested under TK structure has successfully achieved Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 13th December 2019. The project is located in Miyagi prefecture with a capacity of 18.90 MW, where BPP invested 100%. It has entered into Power Purchase Agreement with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. for a period of 20 years with Feed-in- Tariff (FIT) of JPY 36 per Kilowatt-Hour.

Inclusive of this project, BPP currently holds interest in 13 Solar Power Plant Projects in Japan with an equity capacity of 233.57 MW, under which had been COD for 56.33 MW.

BPP will continue to seek investment opportunities in large-scale thermal power plant projects with diversified fuels in attractive growth markets in order to achieve the new growth target of 5,300 MW by 2025.
