SET Extends to 23pts of Gain as DELTA Distorts the Index by Nearly 6pts

SET extended its gain to 23 points in the afternoon session, buoyed by the electronics sector in which DELTA distorted the index by 6pts.


SET Index extended its gain in the afternoon session, rising 23.04 points or 1.49% to 1,572.26 points as of 14:45 local time in Thailand on May 6, 2021, buoyed by the electronics and energy sectors.

 

The Thai stock market closed the morning session with a gain of 16.52 points and extended to 23 points in the afternoon session, trying to regain the loss from yesterday’s 34 points plummet.

The rally in today’s session led by Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited (DELTA) with a gain of ฿55.00/share or 17.46% to ฿370.00/share. The impact of DELTA to SET Index is 5.80 points.

Meanwhile, the energy sector came in as the second leader for the Thai stock market with a gain of 1.27% of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) to trade at ฿40.00/share, having an impact to SET Index by 0.63 points.

Earlier this morning, the Stock Exchange of Thailand announced a delay for the new calculation for the free float measure, resulting in securities with low free float such as DELTA benefiting from the delay.
