GULF Commences 126.8 MW Commercialization to EGAT, More to Follow!

GULF BL has started its 126.8 MW small power producer (SPP) program sale of electricity to EGAT, and more SPP to follow in November 2018.


Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) notifies the shareholders through the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) that its subsidiary, Gulf BL Company Limited (GBL), the operator of Gulf BL power project, will commence the sale of electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on September 1, 2018 under the Small Power Producer (SPP) program.

Gulf BL power project is located in Hi-Tech Industrial Estate, Ayutthaya province, with an installed power generation capacity of 126.8 MW and an installed steam generation capacity of 10.0 tons per hour. GBL will supply contacted power generation capacity of 90.0 MW to EGAT pursuant to a 25-year power purchase agreement and supply the remaining power and steam generation capacity to industrial users through secured long-term contracts.

GBL is the seventh gas-fired SPP from the total 12 SPP’s under Gulf MP Company Limited (GMP) with a combined installed power generation capacity of 1,563.4 MW and a combined installed steam generation capacity of 225.0 tons per hour. The remaining five SPPs will gradually begin commercial operations as scheduled between November 2018 and July 2019.
