AOT Drops 3 Days in a Row as Concern over Coronavirus Outbreak Rises

The share price of AOT has continuously falls 3 days in a row following the coronavirus outbreak.


Regarding to the report, the share price of the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) today closed at ฿71/share dropped ฿1/share or 1.39%, hit its lowest point at ฿70.75/share with the trading value of ฿3.7 billion. The share price of AOT has continuously falls 3 days in a row.

Kasikorn Securities pointed out on the sensitivity analysis that following the confirmation statement of coronavirus outbreak can transmit human-to-human and the first US case of coronavirus, every 1% of the deduction  of Chinese tourists who travelling to Thailand through AOT, it will decrease approx. 0.1% of AOT’s profit.

Currently, Chinese tourists are more than 24% of the total visitors in Thailand, while hotel retails’s revenue like MINT, ERW, and CENTEL is from Chinese tourists with the proportion of 13-18%

In this regard, investors are advised to follow up: 1) The official announcement of the outcomes of the second patient’s treatment. 2) Monitoring on the protection measure during Chinese New Year, which may have a significant negative impact on tourism industry.
